Tasmiyah Iqbal
I'm a software engineer building my way toward research at the intersection of computer vision and spatial intelligence: how machines perceive, understand, and let us interact with physical spaces.
I started my journey in Pakistan, earned a Master's in Computer Science, and spent five years in software consulting before moving to Canada and choosing a more curiosity-driven path. I taught myself AI/ML from the ground up, with a self-designed curriculum, and along the way found myself pulled just as much toward the human side of it all: philosophy and cognitive science, and the bigger questions of how AI actually changes the way we think and understand ourselves.
When I'm not deep in a technical paper, you'll find me lost in a book on classic literature or Islamic philosophy, dreaming about someday getting my pilot's license, or just chilling at home with my son.
